I love fluff, particularly hurt/comfort, and would love to explore how Charles' leaving may have impacted Jane's sense of security in their relationship once married. Does she feel at risk of being abandoned, perhaps? Does she have doubts that Charles really does love her? These fears are unlikely to be resolved in a single circumstance...
